ORGANIZATION

BACKGROUND:

1. Azerbaijani - American Youth Social Association has held a roundtable on a theme "Youth against terrorism" in 11 December. The main goal of roundtable was discussions of the terrorist acts which happened in the USA, the processes in the world after these acts. Mass media and some experts, government people were invited to roundtable.-Project have been realized with the support of SEC Tafaccur University.

2. On August 9-10, 2002, Organization implemented the project on referendum that organized in Azerbaijan Republic. The goal of the project was to hold enlightening events, roundtables among young people related to the changes to the Constitution of Azerbaijan Republic. Project included translation of items of Constitution that had to be changing during the referendum-Self-financing and Azerbaijan Republic Constitution Court.

3. Association has held a scientific-conference on “Educational System of US and Azerbaijan in XXI century. ”The conference has been organized within the forum of “Ministry of Youth, Tourism and Sport”. In the conference, integration among American and Azerbaijan educational system was the main topic of discussion. Conference has been organized with the financial support of Tafaccur University and ACCELS.

4. On November 2002, Association conducted a Roundtable on “Tenth Anniversary of Diplomatic Relationships between Azerbaijan and USA” with the participation of delegations from American Embassy, Presidential Administration and FSA alumnis. Project has been realized with the financial support of ACCELS and Baku State University.

5. As a result of cooperation between Organization and “National Coalition to abolish the death Penalty” Chairman of Organization participated in the conference toward the Human Rights that took place in the USA, Chicago on 23-27 October 2002. Visit has been realized with the financial support of “National Coalition to abolish the Death Penalty”.

6. Grant project with the funding of American Embassy in Baku within the Democracy Commission Small Grants Program for the project titled “Stimulate Youth Participation in Election Process”.-20.06.2003-20.11.2003.

7. Grant project with the funding of World Bank, Eurasia and Open Society Institute-Assistance Foundations for the joint project titled “Development of partnership and linkages among Municipalities and young people” that was implemented in Fizuli district and its villages.-01.06.-30.12.2004.

8. Implementation of the grant project in the Azerbaijani regions titled “Supporting youth voting activity”-Royal Norwegian Embassy and Eurasia Foundation through USAID-10.06.2005-10.09.2005.

9. Organizing International Contact Making Seminar entitled “How to overcome barriers of non-EU member states youth NGOs to participate actively in EU Youth Programme” 09-13 September, 2005, Baku, Azerbaijan. - European Commission Youth Programme. -18035 Euro.

10. Publishing of booklet titled “Elections and Youth” within the project “Stimulate Youth Participation in Election Process” funded by USA State Department.

11. Publishing of booklet titled “Youth participation in elections” within the project titled “Supporting youth voting activity”-Royal Norwegian Embassy in Baku and Eurasia Foundation through USAID”.

12. Organization has participated in the preparation of 5-years Caucasus sub-regional strategy program of CRS on “anti-corruption” program and is one of the founders of Youth Organizations Anti-Corruption Network.

13. Regional project entitled “To increase role of youth clubs in organization of effectiveness of free time for youth in regions”-01.04.2006-01.08.2006-OSI Assistance Foundation.

14. Seminar “All Equal – Not indifferent” “Youth Participation in dissemination the main components of All-Different-All Equal Campaign” 01.02.2006-31.05.2006, Baku, Azerbaijan, Council of Europe, European Youth Foundation.

15. Azerbaijani Youth Parliament-Second Phase”-Royal Norwegian Embassy and Eurasia Foundation through USAID-01.05.2006-31.12.2006.
