Official presentation of Azerbaijani Youth Parliament.

28 September, 2005, in International Press Center
has been organized the official presentation of Azerbaijani
Youth Parliament which is the first time establishing
in Azerbaijan. At the official presentation of Azerbaijani
Youth Parliament have participated the first secretary
of the Royal Norwegian Embassy in Baku Mrs. Goril Johansen,
country director of the Eurasia Foundation Mr. Camal Shahverdiyev,
director of the Open Society Institute-Assistance Foundation
Mr. Farda Asadov, chairman of the Youth Union of the “New
Azerbaijan Party” Mr. Ramil Hasanov, president of Azerbaijan
Human Rights Foundation Mr. Tural Kerimli, members of
Azerbaijan Youth Parliament, representatives of the International
Organizations, NGOs and Mass Media.
In the official presentation has been presented the detailed
information on the project and the new established Azerbaijani
Youth Parliament that consist of potential young people
from different parts of Azerbaijan who will be able to
gather and work together by lobbing interest of their
local youth communities through stimulating their active
participation in the upcoming parliament elections by
preparing alternative suggestions, legislation materials
to the Parliament of Azerbaijan Republic.
In the official presentation the coordinator of the project
Mr. Vugar Ahmadov gave the information about the goal
of the established Azerbaijani Youth Parliament. He noted
that the new established institution will work with Azerbaijani
Parliament deputies, International Organizations, with
the European Youth Parliament and Government by lobbying
the youth interest in Azerbaijan Parliament and by contributing
into the democratization process and free elections in
Azerbaijan.
According to the first activity plan the regional coordinators
will be engaged in involving the local young people from
the regions to the Azerbaijani Youth Parliament and will
conduct the surveys on the regional needs and problems
of the youth aimed at expressing them to the public. Afterwards,
survey results will be collected for the Azerbaijani Youth
Parliament legislation suggestions package and projects
to the Azerbaijani Parliament.
